- The Visual E is a nice idea, I'd be very happy to see one
- in a near future. The E language is versatile enough and is also
- very 'basic' style.
-
- Being a programmer creating commercial database applications with
- Visual Basic for the past year I'd like to point out something.
- The reason why beginners start using the Visual Basic is the
- Visual Basic itself, BUT the reason why professional programmers
- use it is it's integrated database engine (JET) and the zillion
- different VBX (OCXs from VB 4.0 onwards) components available. So the reason
- why pros use it is not so much the language itself but the other features
- readily available. What I am chasing here is that we would NEED
- a 'standard' database engine for Amiga. We already have the languages
- (C (++) and E) and we have decent GUI creation systems (although
- more language environment integrated GUI systems would be preferred)
- but we don't have powerfull database engine which could be used
- by hundreds of programs easily.
