  26. The Visual E is a nice idea, I'd be very happy to see one
  27. in a near future. The E language is versatile enough and is also
  28. very 'basic' style.

  30. Being a programmer creating commercial database applications with
  31. Visual Basic for the past year I'd like to point out something.
  32. The reason why beginners start using the Visual Basic is the
  33. Visual Basic itself, BUT the reason why professional programmers
  34. use it is it's integrated database engine (JET) and the zillion
  35. different VBX (OCXs from VB 4.0 onwards) components available. So the reason
  36. why pros use it is not so much the language itself but the other features
  37. readily available. What I am chasing here is that we would NEED
  38. a 'standard' database engine for Amiga. We already have the languages
  39. (C (++) and E) and we have decent GUI creation systems (although
  40. more language environment integrated GUI systems would be preferred)
  41. but we don't have powerfull database engine which could be used
  42. by hundreds of programs easily.
